My mom made an offhand comment a few months ago about wishing she and my dad could take a cooking class, so I bought them a gift certificate for a couple’s cooking class. It looks really fun and interactive and I’m hoping it pulls them out of their usual pattern of playing pool and in bed by 9 on Saturday nights.

I’m buying my mom and his mom Charleston Rice bracelets.  We’re getting married in Charleston, so it’ll be a nice reminder of the day when they wear them.
As for my dad, I’m getting him one of those daddy hankies because he’s crier.
And finally, we’re giving them picture frames for when we get a professional pictures back.

I’m getting my mom a gift certificate for a facial. I know she would really love something like that.

@lindseyl06:  I love that. My mom loves facials and she hates “keepsakes” lol.

I found a few picture frames on etsy that I really loved but are so expensive.  So, I’m making my instead.  One for my dad, and one for my fiance’s parents…Each one is a 3 picture frame.  For my dad, a picture of me as a little girl on one side, him walking me down the aisle on the other, and in the middle it will say “today a bride, tomorrow a wife, always your little girl” For fiance’s parents, a picture of him as a little boy, a picture of us from wedding day, and in the middle will say ‘thank you for raising the man of my dreams”

@phillybride61513:  She’s never had a facial but she’s always concerned with her skin so I knew that would be something of interest to her. I wanted to book her for the morning of the wedding but with so much going on, I’m not sure if that’s such a good idea. I’m gifting stepmom of the groom and Maid/Matron of Honor with this gift too. I want to get my mom another gift (because she’s my mom!) but she’s not a girly girl so it’s hard. She wouldn’t want a hankercheif or jewelry or clothes or a bag or getting a mani/pedi. She’s complicated!

I got our moms a handkerchief from Etsy and my dad some wooden cufflinks and a pocketwatch, also from Etsy. My parent’s are paying for most of the wedding so we’re also going to gift them a weekend away.

We gave them each a frame with a saying that included thanking them for making us into the people we are today, that they could chose a photo from the happiest day of our life, etc. They all loved it!

There are some pretty good ideas on Pinterest these days.  I found a couple good ones with pictures and sayings that would be great for this.
