Okay, I am an older bride, so this is a (maybe) unique situation. I want to buy my parents a gift when I get married. The issue is, my father is in a nursing home. My mother I can get a gift for a mani/pedi since she has always wanted something like that. But what to get my father? I buy him shirts and other things to wear all the time. I also buy him bath products he likes for when he gets a bath, and for Father’s day I bought him really nice shaving products. I am at a loss! He can’t read very well, and his hands are too weak to do anything with. He doesn’t like music very much, and even though he has a TV, he doesn’t watch it that much anymore. I really have no idea! It is sensitive to him, and I want it to be special.

What about an audio book? You can get them on CD or you could splurge and get him an iPod/cheap smart phone and load it up with books. Some of them go for 36+ hours and there are some really great ones. I’m enjoying The Book Theif through Audible at the moment.
Is he fairly mobile? Is it easy to take him out? Perhaps take him out to lunch/dinner as his gift.

Or, can you hire someone to come to him? Like a massage therapist or awesome barber?

He would never be able to use an Ipod. He also isn’t mobile at all, can’t walk. The barber may be a good idea, but not the massage therapist. They have those on staff.

Could he have a picture in his room there? You can buy him a nice engraved frame and then give him a picture for it afterwards?

I second the frame idea. I think it would be a nice gift.

He can have pictures, he absolutely loves them! If they don’t change his room again where his bed is not next to the window, that would be the best idea. (he has had three rooms since arriving, and a LOT of roommates!)

what about a digital picture frame with a slideshow loaded into it?
