@SweetMelissa429:  Well the good thing is you still have time, and now a free tanning package.  Definitely drink tons of water though, you can dehydrate pretty quickly when you’re burned.  Congrats on the free tanning though, that part is pretty awesome.  Wishing you a speedy recovery!

@SweetMelissa429:  Sorry you got burned ๐Ÿ™ But yay free tanning! I’m an esthetician who happens to have eczema and FH has psoriasis so I’m totally OK with tanning because it actually helps both of us. Personally, I think it’s better to tan in a controlled environment Smile

Wow, I can’t believe she thought you should stay in for that long! Ouch! But awesome ending. Hope you have better experiences here on out.

Ohhh my gosh I would have laughed in that girl’s face if she told me 12 minutes, on my second visit!, was fine. I’m pretty fair skinned so I had to start out really slow when I used to tan but damn that’s a long time for the second visit…and in the highest level bed at that!! Geez, I hope the manager has a talk with her about that. Anyways, congrats on getting a crap load of free stuff. Isn’t free stuff that absolute best?!

I know it’s bad for you but sometimes I miss the tanning bed. I was never addicted but it helped make me look less like a ghost lol. Unfortunately my plastic surgeon told me I can’t tan anymore because he found a pre-melanoma a few months ago…so that means no sunshine for me (without sunblock) whether it’s in a bed or outdoors ๐Ÿ™

Great end result!  Aloe is always good for burns too ๐Ÿ™‚  And I’ll be doing the same thing – I’m obsessive about wearing SPF 30+ every day, but day glow white just isn’t going to work for the wedding.  UV exposure without SPF for once in my life won’t kill me!

hope they retrain the girl. 12 minutes in a bed for a “first timer” is really long especially if you are fair skin.. i do 7 minutes, then 9 minutres then 12 minutes then 15 . and then i back off from tanning for months.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!  If the hydrotherapy that they offer you is available now and you can bear it, go for it.  Stay away from tanning until your redness fades.  So sorry!

dannnng getting burned is the worst! especially from a tanning bed!  Did you go in a bed with only UVA rays (versus both UVA and UVB)? Those are the beds that aren’t supposed to burn you…but you WILL burn if you go in long enough!  Free tanning until the wedding sounds like an awesome deal though!  Just remember to take it a little at a time!

so, you got burned in a tanning bed, and to make up for it you’ll get MORE tanning sessions?

run!
