I like Ava best, then Avery. I don’t like Mc names. If you do Taylor, could you also do a one syllable middle name and call her by both? Like Taylor Ann or Taylor Jane?
ETA- similar to Ava, you could do Eva, Eve or Evelyn (<– might be my favorite).

Have you looked at the Social Security website baby name list? They break it down by state as well as year, so you can see the most popular boy or girl names in your state for 2011. I’m mildy obsessed. But yeah, Ava and Avery are both in the top ten nationally, I believe.
I’m not a fan of McKenna (too much like a last name to me) but I like Mackenzie.

Something to think about– a top 100 list is great for national popularity, but it says nothing about your daughter’s class. My sister was born in VA in 1988 and named Caitlin. No one at the hospital or day care had ever heard of that name before. We moved in NY and she was the only Caitlin, but there was a Kaitlin, Katelyn, and two Katelynnes. It was far more popular in the north.

I think it’s regional? Avery is the #1 name in my province last year, so I’m always surprised when people Here talk about how “unique” it is. If you’re not planning on moving around too much, maybe try to find a list by state just to cross reference?

It must be regional….but I know so many Ava’s and Averys and McKenna (or variations of spelling) is also super popular. I know 3, but they’re all 4-6 years old.
I love Alexandra like someone else mentioned. Alexa Holler sounds Nice! Jessica (Jessie) Holler? Erica Holler? Rebecca (Becca) Holler?
I really like Rowan too! it’s not very girly, but its a super strong, smart and easy to say/spell name.
ETA: I just did the BabyGenie and it gave me Alex Javen as a name, hahaha. Clearly I have an attachment to the name Alex, but Javen?! WTF is that?

What about Morgan? It’s kinda like Lauren 🙂

I agree! Morgan Holler is cute!
I just wanted to say Holler is the most adorable last name ever. Holler.Holler.Holler. I can’t stop saying it hahaha i’m a creep

J, Morgan would be SO cute!

I LOVE Rowan Elizabeth. I think that is really beautiful! I’m a little biased personally, though, because Elizabeth is a family middle name for me and I plan to use it as a middle name for a girl if I ever have one.

I always thought picking a girl name would be easy, but it’s been so challening for us! We are just a couple months away and still can’t decide! My husband really wants Abigail, but it’s so popular right now – like Jennifer was back in our day. Ironically enough, I have not met a young Jennifer in ages so I suggested that name but was vetoed. My husband likes to veto me. 🙂 In addition to Abigail, the other two that are on our maybe list are Paige and Tessa. Like you, soooo many of our favorite names were either taken (Morgan and Kate especially) or associated in a negative way with people. The names I loved that got nixed were Sadie, Savannah, Ava/Eva and Lila. I’ve suggested about a million more, including Avery, but we can’t seem to agree. I wish you luck with this! For us, we’ve decided to wait until after we meet our little girl and name her then, mostly to relieve the stress of trying to figure it out!

So DH nixed Rowan, and likes Avery the best. Yes- this is stressful and I’m really kind of hoping it’s a boy so I can quit worrying about names- lol!
I do really like Morgan, but one of our friend’s wives is named that so I feel like it’s “taken.”. Ugh!!!!

I like all the names you suggested, especially Avery and Ava (like others!). My personal favorites for girl names are:
I had to try very hard to convince Fiance that under no circumstances will we be naming a future child Zoey Chloe. I think we’ve now settled on Anna Zoey if we have a girl.

I like MacKenzie Parker Holler.
Parker = second name

Hmm… I like Avery and Morgan. Rowan is different but could be good. Other ideas: Stella, Everly, Quinn, Meliah, Sydney, Teagan, Reagan???
