Mine is a 2.5 carat showing some rainbows, and I’m in love with it! Although I personally prefer big bling on myself!!

c120590:  this is 2.4ct old mine cut diamond centre on 4.75 finger. Remember it’s not just carats when buying diamonds. The other Cs are important as a smaller stone with amazing specs could look more wow than a big rock that’s cloudy and included.

2.3 (seems to face up a little larger- as now that I’m shopping for a wedding band jewellers keep guessing that it’s bigger) on a 7.5 finger.

It’s very clear and well cut, I think larger stones can show flaws more easily as there is a bigger open facet showing up.

I feel like it’s proportional on my hand and given that it wouldn’t be particularly noteworthy- however the size does attract a lot of comments, some of which have been awkward given that I’m a broke student working tutoring and interning.

There probably isn’t any difference wearing it otherwise.

8.5mm/2.5ct equivalent moissanite on a size 5….it was too big for me personally so I resold it. On me, I prefer round solitaires with closer to a 7-7.5mm spread (1.25-1.5ct). Even 8mm/2ct is pushing it though I wore an 8mm/2ct equivalent for about 4 years.

7.5mm/2.2ct equivalent moissanite on a 4.75 finger. Depending on your finger size, a 2.5 can be very wearable for daily life. I’m very active at work and have no issues my ring.

My solitaire is right around 2.5 carats. It’s a family stone that had to be cut down due to a fracture. I’m a size 7. I wear it all the time. It’s completely wearable, which is say has more to do with the setting than the stone.

I think you might want to try some rings on and maybe get a berricle ring so you can play around with size and see what works best for your hand and your lifestyle.

My ering is a sapphire and is almost 3 carats but is closer in appearance to a 2 carat diamond (about 8mm). I also have a moissanite stand in ring that is 9mm. I wouldn’t have thought one mm difference in measurement would make that much of a difference but it really does for me (also, the setting has a lot to do with it, too. The sapphire setting is a low profile while the other one stands much higher.)

My sapphire really suits my hand and lifestyle and while I originally thought I would go back and forth between the two rings, I find that I rarely wear the moissanite, beautiful though it is.
