There is going to be a lot of obvious advice given on this thread. Obviously calories in vs. calories out etc..

But I personally do really well with meal replacement shakes. I also try to keep food away from myself most of the time. For instance, I don’t bring snacks to work. I bring my one meal replacement shake. It takes the cheating out of things for you.

I’m a really big health and wellness person, and even as much as I exercise, I don’t see changes unless I eat healthier… really focus on foods that don’t have “labels” aks fruits and veggies, whole grains, proteins. I know it’s obvious but really exercise in conjunction with healthy eating patterns are best. I’m training for a 50k and I havent seen many changes in my body except now when I’ve really started to crack down on my diet.

Weight training!! If you want those muscles to show, definitely pick up weights a few times a week in addition to your cardio. Do you have a gym membership?

Try doing a program together. My boyfriend and I are through the first month of fitnessblender 8 week program. It’s a little like insanity, but only $7 for the guide and then the videos are all on youtube and it mixes them up for you.

I agree with @starcatcher09 about doing a program together.  DH and I are doing P90X, and doing the program together helps us to keep each other accountable.

 

PS, if you want results, I would definitely recommend P90X.  We’re only through the first month (of three), and we’re already seeing real changes (shrinking waistlines, ab definition, better muscle tone all over).
