This planning is too stressful and I thinking of just eloping and just throwing a celebraton party. I’m the only one planning and nobody is my family is helping me. My fiance is kinda helping but I can tell he doesn’t really like it. It’s just too much. And our guest list is about 300 people becuase his family is huge and they are close and I mean its a HUGE family lol. Anybody give up planning or feel like how I’m feeling.

Awww, I feel your pain! Just remember, planning a huge celebration party might end up being similar to planning a wedding.

@prahajess: Yeah… that’s true.
OP, what are your thoughts on a wedding planner?

@Anna10-05-2014: +1 on the wedding planner.
We are having a Destination Wedding and when I first started thinking of doing it all myself it became very overwhleming but hiring our wedding planners was a fantastic move that eased a lot of stress and tension.

@Blubandit85: One thing to keep in mind is that, if you’re the only one planning, no one knows the grand plan except for you. As long as you’ve got the venue, catering, and a general timeline down, all the rest is just a bunch of small details.
In the scheme of things, people will just remember if the food was good, the reception was fun, and how fantastic you looked. Take a break. You’ve got 5 months. That’s plenty of time to work out the small stuff.
