This board for MT is kind of dead, but I figured I would give it a shot! Has anyone stayed at GNP for any length of time? I am thinking 4-5 days, max. I have been in Glacier Park Lodge, but not stayed there. The reviews are kind of all over the place. I visited the park back in Summer 2009, but DH and I are looking to go in June 2014. We are going to book something soon, he wants to go to Boston– and I want to go to MT :/ , I am trying to swing both if we can find something reasonable and/or fascinating enough that DH will cave:)
Any suggestions on where to stay? I am interested in Prince of Wales Hotel, too.

I camped when I visited, but have heard good things about the lodge at Many Glacier. I 100% vote for MT over Boston. I have been to many, many beautiful places in this country, and GNP is absolutely at the top! 🙂

@Mrs_Amanda: Look into the Izaak Walton Inn, it’s just south of Glacier (not actually in glacier, but very close to the west entrance) It’s an old historical train station turned hotel. It’s very small/cozy and isolated so you really get to meet fellow travellers and spend time outdoors, and there’s tons to do just in that area on top of all the things in glacier. Plus, if you want, you can even rent a caboose 🙂
Fiance and I got engaged in glacier. Magical, magical place. Plus we saw a moose. OH and visit Polebridge, it’s a fun little granola-village with great people.
I also recommend going to some of the more isolated lakes and renting a canoe or something.

I second the Izaak Walton Inn! I lived in that area for a month, and we always went there for their restaurant! Also stayed there with my now hubby for vacation a few years back. They have the BEST huckleberry cobbler!!!!
