My vision isn’t bad enough for me to have to wear them in the shower. Then again out of all my friends, I actually have the best vision since most of them are practically blind without theirs and I can still see most things perfectly fine.

Nope, I don’t wear them in the shower.  I’d wear my contacts in there if they were in, but I wouldn’t put them in just to shower!

On the rare occasion that I’m not wearing my contacts, no, I don’t wear my glasses in the shower. I’m fairly blind, but that would just be weird to me. I can make our blobs of color enough to know what I’m doing.

I used to take them off in the shower, but no more because they have gotten worn looking from water.

@Mrs.SleepyKitty:  In the US our script is based on measurements of feet so the UK is probably different.

My rx is 20/300. I cant see for shit. But if i wore them in the shower, they’d fog up and then I REALLY can’t see. I’ve memorized where everything is so I don’t need to see. If someone moved something, then i just lean in close to find it and feel around.

@Mrs.SleepyKitty:  I’m -10. (The guy at Lenscrafters was quite rude about this when he was doing my vision test, but I digress!)  It’s so embarrassing to admit that cause I’m very conscious of my horrible eyes, but I found out that I have tumor that could be affecting my optic nerves/vision.  Anyways, I can’t read things at all, but I can tell what things are by shapes and colors.  I sometimes wear my glasses in the shower, but it’s really rare.

@Mrs.SleepyKitty:  I guess he was in shock someone could have such bad vision and wasn’t an older person (I was 23 at the time).  I began to cry in the examine room and he stood there almost half laughing in disbelief.  I was like “listen, I KNOW my vision is bad.  You don’t have to be an asshole about it.”  He was like “I’ve never had anyone cry on me before.”  It was probably the worst experience I’ve had regards to my vision being tested.

I’m okay.  I am going back to the doctor tomorrow to look at my options regarding tumor.  I have to have my vision tested yearly (instead of two years like most people), but I’m always afraid to go.
