Wanted to get some opinions on wearing my glasses on my wedding day. I’ve worn glasses since elementary school and wear them 24/7 except when I’m sleeping. I’m currently in the process of trying contacts, but not sure I’ll be able to get used to them in the next 2 months. I’m pretty blind without so not wearing anything at all doesn’t seem like an option. I usually wear a pair with a black plastic frame (think Sarah Palin), but I do have a thinner rimmed pair I could wear – just not something I use on a regular basis.
The groom also wears glasses (black plastic frames as well). I’m worried about the awkward clinking of glasses when we kiss and how all the photos will look. We’re much more of a classic, elegant couple (or at least that is what we are going for) rather than off beat, funky that the glasses sort of come across as.

I can’t speak to the pictures but I can tell you many of my friends opted to wear their glasses b/c they felt like without them they didn’t look like themselves — it didn’t make kissing awkward (the few whose husbands did the same)

I wore my glasses! Like you, I’ve worn them since elementary school, and I am blind without them. They are just a part of me, so while I sometimes wish I didn’t have them, it just would have been weird without them.
Just don’t go in too fast for the kiss and you won’t clink

my cousin wore her glasses because she never wears contacts and she said she wouldn’t feel like herself with out them. but later when she was looking at pictures she said she wished she had gotten contacts because there’s pictures from certain angles where there’s a weird glare and stuff.

On the one hand, the glasses may date your photos — you may or may not care about that (especially considering how fast EVERYTHING changes, including dress styles and wedding things in general). On the other hand, they are a part of who you are, and you might want that represented at your wedding.

I wear glasses everyday but with the wedding I think I will be wearing contacts. I’m worried about the glare, the glasses may block my makeup look, and my glasses aren’t that cute. =( But you should do what you feel most comfortable in.
