For those experienced moms who’ve stayed up breast feeding their newborns through the night, would you recommend a glider or a recliner? I like the motion of the glider and a foot stool, but others are saying a recliner is better.
Here’s a recliner I am considering bc we can use it in our home afterwards rather than just using it for a nursery:
I am also considering a traditional glider like this:

Does the recliner rock back and forth? We have a glider and the rocking motion was key to getting baby to fall asleep. Also, the glider was smaller (we have a small nursery) and less expensive, so it was the right choice for us.

@blondy: The recliner does rock back and forth but I feel its different from the glider as gliders tend to move front to back versus rocking. Make sense? FTM here so not sure if babies prefer one motion over the other, and which one is better for mothers.

@applebeee: Not sure if babies can tell the difference either! Ours does move back and forth. I think it is really personal preference then.

I didn’t have either with either 3 of my kids so I have no experience in that department. i do have a rocking chair though and plan to use that. It’s already in the baby’s room (which is the office: we are converting it into the nursery).
