I do not have a child, however my mom had another baby almost two years ago (I know! Crazy!) and my grandma and I went to go pick out a chair for her. We chose a beautiful light cherry wood glider from a local Amish Furniture store. The quality is amazing and so is the lifetime warranty. It was in investment, but I have a feeling once I have a baby it will be passed down to me. And maybe my kids when they have kids! Who knows! 🙂

Oh and my grandma and I chose a glider instead of a rocker, just incase my mother fell asleep while nursing my baby sister. We felt like in a rocker if she briefly fell asleep and rocked back a little too far she would get started and wake up the baby. Gliders are much more smooth.

I really like the one you posted! It looks comfortable and the price is pretty great!

I used a old fashioned rocking chair that was my grandmother’s.

If you are looking at gliders look in craigslist, I know my SIL last year wanted one but didn’t want to pay an arm n leg for it. She found a barely used on on Craigslist for dirt cheap.

We got an Ikea Poang rocking chair and ottoman from Craigslist! I know- who would have thought! It was only about $100 and I didn’t know if I’d use it much or not, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of $$ on it. Really comfortable and I used it a ton, especially during long nights of breastfeeding.
