I really don’t like them.  They look either old-fashioned, or like you couldn’t decide whether or not your dress should have sleeves.  Sorry 🙁

I like gloves. I think that they are classic, and, like yellow gold, may be out of fashion now but will doubtless return. I didn’t wear any on my wedding day, though- my dress had lace elbow sleeves so gloves would just look wrong.

Maybe gloves without fingers are better, for the ring, you know.

Wow, I love gloves! In my mind, if it’s stood the test of time for centuries, it’s not dated. Dated means it wasn’t done, then suddenly it was for a while, and now it’s not so much. Like avocado applicances, or today’s version — stainless steel.  But gloves? Those are a classic. I’m always happy to see photos of brides wearing gloves. Every time I ask myself “why in the world don’t we see that more often?”

For those wearing them, the “proper” way to put on the ring is to open the seam of the ring finger, as a PP said. I’m not sure that would give the look you’re going for in photos afterwards though…. That’s the only con I can think of.
