Which glue gun do you use? Are there any particular brands that are better than others? I need my glue gun for two main projects, my pomanders and also my diy fans.. i’m going in to michaels today and wanted some advice on which brand to go for. Any tips or advice will be appreciated.

I got mine at the dollar store. It’s blue. It’s done me well for years 🙂 I think it has a high/low setting, but I don’t think I’ve ever used it.

The blue $2.99 one from Michaels. One setting. I set it on a plate when i’m using it in case it drips.

IMO – a hot glue gun is a hot glue gun. It doesn’t really matter that much what one you get. Although, depending on ecatly what you are doing with the glue, look at glue dots! We used them for our table numbers and placecards and they are AWESOME!

@bakerella: got mine at the dollar store too!
Its a mini glue gun but works great, i have used it way more than i thought i would. They also have the mini glue sticks at the dollar store as well.

go for the cheapest! just make sure it’s not too heavy because they can get tiring to handle (another reason why the minis are great!)

I think I got mine for $3 at michaels with a 50% off coupon. The only thing I’ll say is I prefer the big ones to the minis because I go through glue like woah on a mini. My mom has one she got for like $0.50 30+ years ago. It still works.

@Mrs.KMM: Agreed, glue dots make the world go round!
@totheislnds: I think mine’s a mini too. You can’t beat the price for both the guns and the sticks!
Don’t spend a fortune on one, it’s not worth it. If it makes the glue hot and runny, mission accomplished.

So I went to michaels about an hour ago and I bought the big red one.. with my 40% off coupon it was $7, I nearly got the mini one for $2.99 but decided to just pay the xtra 4 dollars for a big one that has two settings for high n low.

I was just saying how I need a new one. I have a mini but use like 10000 sticks every time I get it out. I need a big one! Good decision to go big!
