So, my Fiance and I have been going back & forth for a while about what to outfit the groomsmen in. Wedding is in October at a country club, colors are chocolate brown and dark red (with tans and white as accent colors). The bridesmaids are wearing dark brown knee-length jcrew dresses – but we’re stuck on the guys. Fiance is planning on wearing a black tux. And, he’d like the groomsmen in suits.
What color suits should we do? Is it weird that he wants to wear a tux but have the guys in suits? Does anyone have any pictures they can share of weddings where the groom wore a tux and the groomsmen were in suits?
Thanks for the help!

The bride gets to stand out in a beautiful gown, so why shouldn’t the groom? I’ve always thought it odd that the bride doesn’t match her BMs dresses, so how come the groom always has to dress like the GMs?
Let him wear his tux. Since you have tan as an accent color, and it’s a fall wedding, how about putting the GMs in tan suits? Most of chain tux rental shops offer very nice tan suits.
If you want it more formal, get them ties in colors that match/coordinate with the BM’s chocolate/red. If you want more casual, then no tie necessary, but you can pull in the color through the boutonierre.
Or, you can put them all in tuxes, but let your groom stand out somehow with a different color vest/tie combo. Then let the GMs coordinate w/ the BMs through accessories (vest/tie/bout).
