Hubby and I finally got our wedding gifts today. We were married September 18, but left directly for the honeymoon from the reception, so my bridesmaid parents took the gifts for us.
I am happy to say that I have written 21 thank you cards for gifts received from my guests. Now there are just Husband’s guests. I realize that I’ll probably end up writing a chunk of his as well, but I’m really hoping he writes most of them. I wrote all the engagement thank yous … and it is hard when I don’t know the people at all.
But I am feeling quite happy that I’ve gotten a good chunk of them done! I’d say about 1/3 to 1/2. w00t!

That’s great!
I wrote 100% of ours which was fine with me.

Thats awesome, I am ashamed to admit but it took us 3 months to get them all out. Over 80% of the guest list was from my side so I had to write most of them.

I wrote all of mine as well. My husband actually got a side job painting so i would sit with him while he was working and got all 150 thank yous done and sent out within a week!! 🙂 (kinda proud of that!!!!)
Congrats on getting them done though!

Good work! I wrote all of ours. It was hard to write ones for his side to people that didn’t attend the wedding and that i have never met! But i tried to keep them short and sweet!

Congrats! I wrote all of ours. I got them written and out in the mail within a week and a half of getting married. That’s what happens when you have two weeks before you go on your honeymoon!

I’m surprised at this! I wrote thank you notes to my friends and family and my husband is writing thank you notes to his friends and family. Any mutual friends I will probably do myself. I always thought this is the way people split them. I’m surprised to see that so many brides are doing all the thank yous themselves!

@EmEv: Me too! I’m in the same boat. I know I can’t see my husband writing out the rest of the thank you cards. However, I know he’d rather write out the ones to his friends than to his distant relatives … but sorry, that is going to be his job. But I do want to get the rest of them out in the next two weeks, so I will definitely have to help out and be on top of him for it.

We both wrote ours (or are almost done). Whoever’s ‘guest’ it was, that person had to write the bulk of the thank you card, and the other person had to write as much or as little as they want and then sign as well. I like the equality 🙂
But I don’t like the 5 cards we are still sitting on because he is so slow to get to his…. hahah
