My personal opinion ….Get the asha and wait for the 2015 roll out of the Amora Gems

Mike C said Amora Gems should be available to the public sometime in 2013, and those on the waiting list before that.

I’m thinking I’m going to just go with unenhanced moissy, and if I”m not in love with it, get the Amora Gem later.

@Paiger8:  The Amora Gem *might* be available in 2013 in certain countries.  Unfortunately, the US and Canada may not see it until 2015.  When it is available the people on the wait list will be notified of that first, but they will not be getting them any earlier than anyone else.

I think it sounds like you’re looking for a diamond more than anything.  You have to keep in mind that moissanite isn’t going to look exactly like a diamond, especially the round brilliant cut.  I would suggest ordering a loose stone to see if you like it and if you don’t, you can return it.  I prefer unenhanced moissanite, but if you’re worried about warmth then you’re probably better off with Forever Brilliant.

if you do not like the warmth of the unenhanced certainly do not get the FB. go with the asha and switch it out later. sell the asha stone and maybe make a tad bit of money back after.

but no way would I wait a year or 3 to get a stone. NO WAY

@Nicole121212:  NONE OF THE ABOVE! Why don’t you just wait until the Amora moissy is back in stock?

Out of curiocity, I took my own advice to you (from your previous thread) and checked out the situation on the BTD forum. It said moissyco is out of stock right now because BTD (the company that makes moissy into Amora moissy) is moving premises. It does NOT sound like moissyco is indefinitely out of stock.

Are you wanting to order the ring right now? If so, you should just order a regular moissy and a  forever brilliant loose & see which you like best! The return cost of a stone is negligible.

I f you want to pass off your stone as a diamond, Asha is the best way to go because it is very diamond like. The asha has a diamond coating that makes it more durable and on the Maid/Matron of Honor scale around a 9+ not really sure of the number but it is on their btd page.

I’d go asha > amora if I had your preference. I have an unenhanced moissanite that holds its own against diamond colour.

Bear in mind though that the amora gem won’t look like a diamond. It’s silicone carbide same as moissanite and will have the same insane sparkle.

How about you get an asha for now, then a few years down the line when you are ready for an upgrade ( and aren’t pressed for time) you can order a loose amora stone and decide if you want it as your ” forever” stone… :-).

I think Ashas are probably more passable as a diamond- love the moissys but they do throw out a little more colour/sparkle, especially when not enhanced.

For the money I would get the asha now , and if you want to upgrade to the amora gem later down the line the option will be there?

Wow…I am in EXACTLY the same predicament with a January 12, 2013 wedding date and NO RING YET!!! I too have trolled around moissyco and was just PEEVED after MONTHS of deciding on a setting, we go to order an Amora and nopes! Don’t have any til December!!! So, I ordered an Asha krupps, and an Asha round brilliant, played around with them for a couple weeks and finally returned them both. While yes, against real diamonds they are almost interchangeable at first glance , I honestly felt there was a “plastic-y” look to them…mind you they were loose stones and not set in metal, so my experience was skewed a bit.

Bottom line…I will wait for the Amora moissanite rounds to become available again. I’ve seen them in real person, set, and the depth and sparkle are just breathtaking. And I love that it will be my forever stone, no need to upgrade or switcheroo later. So, I guess I’ll be getting married with just a wedding band and get my “engagement ring” post-nuptials!!!

Best of luck in your decision making!!!
