do you have pics of yourself in it to look at?  I looked at pics.  I really wanted to try it on again, and I did when it came in. Then I brought it home.

I actually had the dress at my parents house for a couple months before I took it to a place to get it altered and I didn’t try it on at home.  I was way too anxious about something getting on the dress or snagging.  I think I am obsessed with my dress to the point that I would die if anything happened to it, and I am a little accident prone haha

ya i gotta wait til mid august too, and i ordered in early feb! im looking at my pics and posting all over weddingbee to stay occupied! plus i started thinking about other aspects of planning, like the wedding band right now, but also invitations got done and mailed out, im working on getting the photographer booked finally, thinking about welcome bags for our guests, things like that. mostly i find that if i look at pics, i get more obsessed, so i try to put it out of my mind.

When I was waiting on my gown (which is already in and hanging in my guest room yay!) I would make excuses to go back to the salon and try on the sample. For example, my cousin (a bridesmaid) came to town and hadn’t seen it so I went to try it on, when my veil came in I went and tried it on with the sample, when my bridesmaids tried on dresses I tried the sample back on, etc. They probably got sick of me trying that damn sample on but I didn’t care lol

@ChelseaBells:  I feel your pain.  I have to wait until probably mid-July (exactly when we’re going on holiday).  BUT, when I e-mailed to let them know I wouldn’t be at work to accept delivery, they told me to call around the first part of June to see if everything had arrived, and they could ship before I left.  I told the CSR that they’d be hearing from me on June 1!!  And the only photos I have are from the websites of the designers.  I tried this particular Allure gown on locally, but they wouldn’t allow photos.  I ordered on-line because I ended up getting a much MUCH better price from one of the on-line authorized dealers.

Take a deep breath, and try to find something else wedding-related to work on! Easier said than done.

@ChelseaBells:  I ordered mine in November 2012 and received it in April 2013. I went back to the salon to try it on when my mother tried on gowns and again when my bridesmaids tried on gowns 🙂 When it FINALLY arrived (over a month late), I wore it around the house for a few hours. Be grateful that you LOVE your gown! It will be worth the wait!

@ChelseaBells:  The wait didn’t bother too much. I still had a lot of planning to do and other distractions.

My inital ETA was May 30. But about a week ago, I was on the Weddingbee and read a horror story about a dress not arriving on time. So, I gave my bridal shop a call to make sure everything on was schedule and they said it was actually going to arrive mid May. That is when I started getting antsy.

Well, TODAY I got the call letting me know that it has ARRIVED!!!!! YAY!! I can’t wait to pick it up and try on my dress for the first time.

I’m pretty much the same timing as you. Ordered in February, expect it late summer. I have been tackling every other wedding thing to pass the time! I can’t wait.
