I went alone a couple of times, and I’m glad I did. Sales people tended to be very helpful, but perhaps less pressuring because they assumed I probably wasn’t buying then and there. I bet it’ll be a great way to get a sense of what you like, and also to maybe select one or two shops where you have a good experience and you can then take family back there with you.

I went alone and I loved it. It was so much better to say yes or no to dresses I liked with only my opinion.

The only thing I didn’t like about going alone was that I needed the shop attendant to come into the dressing room with me to zip or clip me into the dresses as I tried them on.  A little too up close and personal for me.

I went alone. It was awesome. The sales consultant was super attentive and I was able to make up my mind without influence.

But, I had also intended to go in alone just to try a few on, then come back with my mom and sister to buy something. It didn’t work out that way. I put one on that was gorgeous, my size, on sale … and the only one left. The style was discontinued. So I had to buy it then and there. My mom and sister were disappointed not to have been there but they understood. So just be prepared for that!

I’m glad I went alone! It’s helped me narrow my desires down without any conflicting opinions.

I went alone a couple of times. It wasn’t the end of the world, and was actually less stressful than when I went with other people.

I only went dress shopping alone and I just purchased my dress.  While it would have been fun to go with other people, it was fun to try things out and make the decision based on what I liked.

@bostongirl27:  I went alone too and I didn’t have any other option.  I felt like the employees gave me good attention.  I think I know what looked good and what did not. I liked not being swayed by any other input.

Some shops let you take photos, while others do not.  It was hard to remember some of those gowns!

I went alone at first so I could know what I really wanted without other people swaying my opinion. It was great 😀
