I did! It was scary because I knew nothing was going to really fit but a lot of salon carry size 14 and 16 sample size. The one I went too did. It really didnt fit me but I used my imagination. Stay positive don’t get down on yourself and as hard as it sounds use your imgaination especially if it is a dress you love!

I was dreading it, too, but it turned out to be quite fun. ๐Ÿ™‚  Be sure to pick a salon with a good reputation for service, and they will cater to you as the spectacular bride that you are!

Also, I may be biased (though I believe plenty of full-figured bees would agree with me)… go to a salon that carries Maggie Sottero gowns. There’s just something about her designs (especially with the corsets) that are extra flattering on a woman with curves. Even if you don’t end up buying one of her designs, it might help to build your confidence right off the bat.

Good luck, and have fun with it!

I was very nervous too before I went dress  shopping. If you are in the NYC area I HIGHLY recommend RK Bridal! They are in the Garment district and have a website in case you need the address. I suggest going on a weekday if you can or getting there as SOON as they open because if you go mid-day on a weekend you may be quite overwhelmed as the place is huge and tends to get MOBBED on the weekends. They have a TON of gorgeous Plus size samples and did not make me feel bad about being plus size at all!! Good luck!
