Well, I’ve waited until the last possibe second for wedding gown shopping. I have an appt on Friday for a trunk show at a Maggie Sottero retailer. Should be some great deals on that day, however I’m so nervous that I won’t look good in anything. I know there have been a million posts on here from other brides like worrying about the same thing. I havn’t lost anything bu 10 lbs and I don’t want to be disapointed after looking in the mirror and seeing my fat arms and my tummy and think “I look horrible, I’m not a beautiful bride”.
Gonna try and stay positive. I’m excited too…but more nervous then anything. Wish me luck bees!!
Anyone wanna post pictures of themselves trying on dresses and feeling fabulous I’d love to see them!! Maybe it will help me feel like I can find something beautiful!!

I think a bride in love looks beautiful no matter what weight she is (not just saying that!!)
Are you planning on losing more weight before the wedding and are just a little disappointed you haven’t lost more at this point?

I was also really nervous – especially because being plus sized limited my options – but just keep going and don’t settle, there are a lot more stores out there. You’ll find it, I know it. (I just got mine this week – really!) 🙂 🙂

I just went to a Maggie trunk show on Sunday. Honestly, I was a little disappointed in the selection of anything over a size 10. HOWEVER, I ended up being able to try on about 15 other gowns from various designers and ended up in the Allure 8766, which highlights every curve that I have. I was in love with the Maggie dresses and always thought I’d get one, but the Allure’s were a much better fit for me!
Don’t get too freaked out about the size you have to order. I had to order my Allure 5 sizes bigger than my pants size.

@NYshoppingirl: Oh have fun! Just try and relax 🙂 Maybe have lunch, and a few glasses of wine before to relax! A bride is a beautiful thing regardless, and I hope you have a wonderful experience.

Thanks bees!! I know I will find something beautiful.
soon2bhis I do plan on losing more, I was just hoping to drop a couple sizes before trying on dresses so I would have more options. Now I’m not sure what I’ll fit into, and I don’t want the plain generic ballroom gowns they try and squeez plus size girls in. I love my curves. I have them no matter what size I am. I just don’t want as many of them. Hahahahaha! but really, I want to look sexy and accentuate what I love about my body, not hide it. And I feel like a lot of bridal stores just cater to thin women and not the rest of us. But who knows, maybe this place will surprise me and actually treat me like a paying customer. If not, screw ’em. Someone else will get my money!! 😉
