@missjewels:  Ooh, what about having a family/friend spruce up your home with some decor? 🙂

Depending on where you and your Fiance are getting ready, you could put out rose petals in the bedroom, chill a bottle of champagne in the fridge, and set out some fancy chocolates. Before you leave that morning, put some romantic music on the radio or ipod and leave it playing and dim the lights so that the mood is already set when you get home.

If it were me, first of all I’d hire a professional cleaner to come in the day of or the day before to get it perfectly spruced up and relaxing. Then I’d do what other people suggested and have lots of candles out, flowers all around, petals on the bed, champagne and chocolates set out… it could be really romantic actually! And it will be nice that then you can always remember it as the place you had that special night. Maybe you could even buy some really nice new bedding that you don’t put on until that day to make it a little more special.

Do you have anyone who you could ask to go in before you and light candles turn on music etc? If so it seems like that would be even more special 🙂

If it makes you feel better we had a fancy suite, and Darling Husband was so plastered he didn’t even see it until he woke up in the morning. I think it might have been better had we gone home haha

@missjewels:  Most people I know are so tired/drunk after the wedding that they don’t end up doing anything other than sleep lol
