I just found out that my mom is making a layette, so she’ll probably go home in a few of those pieces.

@wifegoodman:  Thanks, good luck to you!

I finally found my going home outfit, and it wasn’t too much either. Here it is:

This is what my Mother-In-Law got us and we will likely have him wear it home.

Oldtimer (practically a Grandma) here…

In our family we have a “traditional” outfit that has been passed down for generations that has been used for things like bringing the baby home / christenings etc.

As a Canadian though, I can certainly comment on the cold weather aspects / attire

I am a big fan of bunting bags for newborns vs snowsuits (the former having no distinct legs… just a square bottom, sort of like a sleeping bag / snuggie blanket).  A cozier (warmer?) option than a snowsuit for a baby IMO

Hope this helps,

@Erika_Meep:  That snowsuit is adorable! We will also be taking our little guy home in late January (we live in MA so it will be cold for sure!). Do you mind telling me where you got the suit from?

@Irishker03: Even though I already answered you on the January Babies board, I figured I’d copy that answer over here just in case anyone else is looking for a snow suit for their newborn. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s actually made by a company called Rugged Bear Outerwear. We ended up getting ours from a Kids Woot sale for around $20 (a big discount from the normal price) but sadly, the sale is over now. However, I was able to find it on Amazon. Here is the link! It’s not a bad price on there either!

@BirdofaFeather:  That is totally adorable! I found one that was so cute with ears and the DH shot it down immediately – he vetoed all ears on hats and outfits ๐Ÿ™

@Erica_Meep – Thank you!

My babe was born in October and this is what we did for her outfit:

I also packed a comfy blanket for her just in case!

I had two outfits packed. We expected her to be tiny, so we got her a preemie-sized outfit. Just in case though, I packed a larger, newborn outfit as well (we ended up using the preemie one!)

Thanks! She was about 4-5 days old when we finally got to go home, that was the only “going home” pic I got. We were so excited to finally get out of the hospital that I only took one picture..
 I crochet’d the hat, so I was pretty proud ๐Ÿ˜€
