I am looking into school to be a wedding planner. I have loved everything about weddings since I was a little girl and I would love to help other brides make their big day special. I’ve been having a blast planning my own and I helped my other friend plan hers. I’ve worked at 2 bridal stores before and love the work. I’m trying to find a school tho and been finding mixed reviews. Anyone else who has done this or has this career? So far my front runner school is Penn Foster. Anyone go to this school that knows if this is a good school? Thanks!

I don’t think there are any legit programs for this. I don’t think you need a degree to do it but if you want one, something like event management would be better.

Why go to a school? You already have experience planning and it sounds like you also have a few brides that can recommend your services. It’s better to attend bridal shows and develop relationships with vendors that will recommend you to their clients (if you refer yours to them.) If you absolutely must go to school then I would recommend attending business or hospitality school so you learn how to run/manage a business which is the harder lesson and much more worth paying out the money for classes.
