Are you guys into bars/clubs?

What hotel are you guys staying at? Does the pregger girl know that the casinos are generally very smokey?

I always carry a very light foldable pair of flip flops or ballet slippers to change into after partying all night up and down the strip.. dogs will be barkin!!!

@kate169: thats where Im getting married!  Most of my research has been wedding related but I would look into a day trip to the grand canyon or lake mead or hoover dam.  Unless you’ve already seen them.

@kate169: I have friends that have done it.  There are tours that organize day trips.  But it is a very long day 10-12 hours.

@kate169: We didn’t do the Grand Canyon when we were there for our Honeymoon, but I did look into it. There are lots of day trips where they bus you out.

Give yourself time to relax by the pool. Also, find out the gimick at each hotel and go visit them. Like MGM has the Lion Habitat, Bellagio has the fountains. I think there are 2 with Shark aquariums. But we found that just wandering around the strip from hotel to hotel was fun. Also, you have to see a Cirque show. We saw KA, but O is amazing too.

How many days are you going for? Vegas has soooooooooo much to do and I’m not sure a day trip will be worth cutting out VEGAS time!!

The beatles love show is amazing, so is the cirque de solei “O” at Belliago. There is a dueling piano bar at New York that is the best time ever. Diablos is an awesome Mexican restaurant on the strip, you can sit on the open roof top and they have live music. There is an outside bar at Harrahs that is super fun. You should also hit up a pool party, you will have to check to see who is doing it when you go. I have been to Vegas 7 times, it is my favorite!! I always have the best time doing a pub crawl type thing, having drinks at one place, moving on for appetizers…..you have to go to Fat Tuesdays, You can do a mango frozen drink with an extra shot of 151 for $1, you can walk around with that and it will last for awhile and give you a good buzz for only about $10. If you are looking for nice restaurants I suggest Del Frescos for steak, Lawrys for Prime Rib, both are expensive. Belliago has the best Buffett. And take a cab to downtown to old Vegas, freemont st. It’s cheap gambling and they have a laser light roof canopy with a zipline. There is a place across from T.I that has $1 beers all day, I can’t remember the name though.

Whew, hope this helps! You will have a blast, I am do jealous, we usually go twice a year but are skipping out this year due to the wedding expenses.

Oooh we went there for our honeymoon! It’s awesome. We stayed at the Aria – their buffet was amazing for breakfast. Also, they had a patissiere (spelling?) on the casino level that had absolutely TO DIE FOR desserts.

Let’s see, Mandalay had a great aquarium to see, and the lion habitat was great to see at MGM. Also fully support the day trip to the Grand Canyon. We rented a car and just drove there instead of dropping all kinds of money on the guided tour, but to each their own. It took about 4 hours to drive there, pay $25 to get into the park, then you can wander on your own.

We saw the adult (18 and up only) Cirque show at New York, New York, called Zumanity. It’s topless and very sexy. Perfect for our honeymoon, but it’s also very hilarious with comedy bits in between the acrobatics. The performers pick on the front few rows, so beware. :p

Vegas is one of those places with so much to do that you don’t actually need to plan anything ahead of time. Just walk the Strip the first day you’re there and see what’s on offer.

There’s a discount ticket booth on the Strip (near the Hard Rock Hotel, I think) that offers tickets for day-of or next-day shows.

Also, if you want cheaper gambling ($2-$5 tables) check out Old Town.

Have fun!

ETA: If you want a fancy dinner, Spago in Caesar’s has a 9-course tasting menu to. die. for.

Aww, I miss Vegas…

The Blue Man show is really good, I took my Fiance there and we had a great time. I’d hit up the buffets at the Whynn and Rio too, which are a bit more on the pricey. There is a club at the top of the Mandalay Bay hotel if you’re into dancing, and the view is pretty nice. I’d also try to stay at a hotel with a nice pool, so you can hang out there during the day. Otherwise just walking up and down the strip is awesome.
