Just MHO, and I hope I don’t offend anybody ot seem like I’m setting myself up to be some sort  of expert .

To me,  many  of these gold sequinned dresses are beautiful  in themselves but rather  overwhelming  en masse.

I tend to  agree with the friend  who said she feared it might  diminish your dress ( in pictures of you all, that   is) , as I think some of these posted almost look like  the bride is the least formally/outstandingly  dressed . It might   work well if the  bride was wearing  a strong colour, not  white/ivory blush etc and/or  if her dress were similarly sequinned.

I would also be careful of some  long,  some short,  personally  I never think that is a good look regardless  of  dress colour  or material, and perhaps especially if using a   sequinned/embellished fabric .

miniausiemom: My bridesmaids gently hinted at that all sequin matching long dresses were overkill. Haha I took the hint and we ended up doing mismatched metallics.

bostonbride2016:  my girls paid between $70 and $220ish. Two girls found their dresses used online, one did rent the runway, one just found an awesome clearance sale, and one paid full price. We learned that most cheap gold sequins dresses LOOK cheap so they mostly found ways too get $400+ gowns for less money.

Eta: I just noticed your username – make the trek down to Fall River and check out party dress express! They had great stuff if you venture beyond the “bridesmaid” section. One of my girls got hers from the “MOB” section!

elderbee:  I can see your point but these are just one picture. For instance in the one I posted you can’t see my train and cathedral veil which upped my formality level. I can’t speak for others but personally I didn’t worry about being “outshined” – I’m no wallflower and my dress isn’t what made me the center of attention at my wedding. I wanted to feel pretty at my wedding and I did. I also wanted my best friends to feel pretty and they did. And more importantly – we all had a blast and are still best friends.

miniausiemom:  My bridesmaids are doing a champagne with the groomsmen in royal blue. My wedding isn’t until November though. One of my bridesmaids has ordered the dress and it still looks beautiful in person! We have a 1940s glam theme! Here’s the dress: http://www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Princess-Sweetheart-Sweep-Train-Charmeuse-Prom-Dress-With-Ruffle-Beading-Sequins-018004806-g4806

LilliV:  That’s good , and I take your point   about the train etc not being visible. It is a beautiful dress (well,  they all are)  and I didn’t  AT ALL intend to  imply anything  else, or  – heaven forbid – about the  wider aspects of yourself or your wedding . I was just commenting on an impression from a picture.

Ah I love these sstyles of bridesmaid dress! I think you made a good choice steering your ship away from the navy….see what I did there?

I think that one of the other commenters mentioned these but I have been spending a lot of time looking through the dresses at Adrianna Papell. The have a ton of bridesmaid dresses that are in this style that I think you’d like. check them out http://www.adriannapapell.com/wedding-bridal/bridesmaids-dresses/

My bridesmaids are in gold! Actually it’s more of a champagne but in some light it looks more gold and in some light looks more blush! It is the Guess Lori sequin dress. If you look it up it looks much shorter on the model than it actually is. My wedding is not until November so I do not have a professional photo with all the girls in them to show, but I am very excited. I say do want you want – the sequins are NOT going to overshadow you. You’re the bride and you’re going to get the attention. I have three bridesmaids, by the way.
