I’m having a spring wedding in the south. It will be early May. I was thinking about gold shimmery bridesmaid dresses but my mother is fighting with me and saying that’s too wintery. What are y’all’s thoughts? Thinking something similar except obviously gold

Is it your wedding or your mums? I love them, I think they’ll look fabulous.

My daughter tried to find shimmery/beaded gold gowns all over the place. The closest she could find was very expensive prom gowns, in the store. She didn’t want to rent them. She ended up with Dessy Group’s Venetian Gold, in a long gown, for a late August wedding. Probably better as the beaded gowns would have been too mature for the groom’s teenage niece.
Choose whatever color you want!

I think silver is more wintery than gold is. Gold is good for spring, summer and fall.

rebeccaejv: I think it’ll look great! But I would suggest a short version- even though May is technically spring in many places in the south it’ll feel like summer already….

Those are so beautiful! Imo that color is timeless, and you could use it year round (though I agree that a dress with a shorter hemline may keep your Bridesmaid or Best Man from overheating if the weather is on the warm side). Trust your instinct 😉 it’s going to look fabulous!

rebeccaejv: I pinned that too 😉 I think of Spring too when I see gold in weddings. It’s a classy colour too.

Where can I find something similar to this? This is exactly what I am looking for for my winter wedding.

howtobeawife: Yes, that exactly. Gold is not wintery and honestly even if you wanted silver then I’d still say go for it because it is your wedding not hers and those dresses are lovely.
