I’ve exhausted my summer reading list (both pregnancy-related and non-related) and I’m looking for suggestions on good reads on the Kindle for first-time moms.
I’m 24 weeks so something that helped you prepare for the 2nd trimester and beyond would be especialy helpful. I’ve read the Pregnancy Countdown and Expecting Better so far.

Not sure what your plans are for childbirth but being in the second trimester I would think that preparing for birth is on your mind. My favorite book is Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth. It’s definitely more geared toward natural childbirth but will give a lot of insight to how the female body works during labor and a lot of birth stories.

I’d focus your reading on birth (like the previous poster said) and newborns and babies, since once your little one is here you won’t have as much time for that. I liked The Happiest Baby on the Block and Mayo Guide to Your Baby’s First Year. You could also read up on breastfeeding (if you plan to) and infant sleep. Afterall, parenting lasts a lot longer than pregnancy! Although, I did love Do Chocolate Lovers Have Sweeter Babies? The Surprising Science of Pregnancy. Super interesting!

“The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding” – lots of good info on bf, babies in general, pumping, and troubleshooting.
“The Happiest Baby on the Block” – book or DVD. Simple stuff but it works! And, if you have a fussy baby, already having some tricks up your sleeve will be great, because finding the time to read a book or watch a DVD is only going to get harder 😉

Thanks all – I’m halfway through The Happiest Baby on the Block and it’s a great read! Definitely a new perspective but I’m glad I’m reading it in case we have a wailer!
