I’m not pregnant but I just wanted to say that I appreciate your humor:)  I laughed, not “at you,” but I think it’s great you’re always so funny about this stuff. When my friend “lost” her ankles, she was MISERABLE at that point, none of her shoes fit, etc.  So kudos to you for not sounding like she did!  And I hope it’s not too much longer until you get them back:)

@firsttimemom:  You should take a nice bath daily with water as high as you can get it.  It’ll push the excess fluid to your core/kidneys so you can pee it out.  The bouyancy will be nice on your joints and muscles.  Additionally, you could try to keep your feet elevated a lot.

I developed “cankles” almost a month ago (I’m due on Tuesday), but they went away.  I’ve been drinking a lot of water and I’ve been trying to get in about a 30-minute walk on most days.  I don’t know if these practices actually helped or if the swelling went away on it own.  But chin up…  there’s a light at the end of the tunnel!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it may take longer than a few weeks to get them back! Mine didn’t reappear until 2ish weeks after I gave birth. Imagine my surprise when the baby came out but my cankles and stretch marks were still there.

Cabbage!!

It may sound weird, but it totally works

If you are having swelling that it really bothering you and is uncomfortable, putting cabbage on the area will help reduce the swelling.

You buy some cabbage …wash it..take off a few leaves

Then “crunch” it a little so that you are breaking the “veins”

Put the leaves on the swollen areas until they wilt.

I have heard from MANY people that cabbage does wonders for swelling. I have not tried it because my swelling has not been too bad, but I just wanted to mention it. Sounds weird…but I hear it works wonders πŸ™‚

Just my luck. I say earlier today that my swelling hasn’t gotten too bad yet

Then just like that! I look down tonight and my feet and ankles are totally swollen!  Isn’t this last month of pregnancy so fun?? πŸ™‚

My boss sent me home early yesterday due to my swelling.  It sucked!

I look like I have elephantits πŸ™

Good Times I tell ya!

@firsttimemom:  HaHaHa  yeah it was icky looking! My Mom compared me to Grandma, she was diabetic and obese.  She was lucky I was stuck on the couch propped up with an icepack, lol!!

My boss is so scared that I’m gonna go into labor here in the office, so he’ll send me home for the smallest things (but he’ll take the day off and leave me here alone to go golfing πŸ˜‰ )
