My dearest Fiance is a clever, thoughtful guy. He loves doing little things to surprise me and takecare of me. Last week, Fiance washed all my clothes while I was out at work. D’aww 🙂
Unfortunately, he washed and dried all my work clothes – about 50% of which consists of dry clean only, hand wash only, line dry only, etc. My work wardrobe is irrevocably ruined. Skirts and blouses are shrunk. Hems frayed in the dryer. Pleats will no longer lay flat. What I can actually still fit on my body looks like I’m playing sexy secretary dress up.
It’s not the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s going to take a lot of time and money to put my work wardrobe back together.
I’m trying not to make a big deal about it, because Fiance had only the best intentions at heart. While I’m mourning the loss of my work wardrobe, have you ever been on the giving or receiving end of a good deed gone awry? What happened?

Awww that sucks. At least his intentions were good. I remember when I was younger I was setting up my dad’s brand new printer for him. The printer ended up getting an epic paper jam and became unusable and we had to return it. He was pretty mad at me, but then he bought a different printer and loved it. Since then, he’s joked about how thankful he is that I broke the crappy printer because the new printer was so much better.

yikes!! I am happy you are not making a big deal over it. It’s kinda sweet though.

My Fiance has a habit of doing this to me, too…but, never to such an extreme! Luckily, my job doesn’t require anything dry clean/handwash only, but I have informed my fiance that anything I own that isn’t pajamas should be washed cold and line dried 🙂 He still misses the occasional item, but damn he tries hard! And I really do appreciate it.
Sorry your whole work wardrobe is ruined 🙁 He will learn, and do it right next time 🙂
