I loved Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy.  You could also consider something like one of the belly butter or cocoa butter rub products (though we are very smell sensitive, so you might want to get a variety so she can find one she likes!), or a gift certificate to a really good bra shop so that she can find at least one comfortable bra that fits!

well I’m not preggers, but I’d love a gift certificate for a spa pedicure. Or if you live in the same town you can get it done together to spend some time together.

There is a funny satire-ish book called “What to Expect When You’re Expected: A Fetus’ Guide to the First Three Trimesters” by David Javerbaum – Stephen Colbert talked about it on his show recently and it looks like a pretty funny book! So if you want to get the something funny, possibly this book? There are rave reviews on Amazon too…I wish I had someone to buy this book for!

I would appreciate something like a good pregnancy book, a nice robe and slippers to take to the hospital, or a cute maternity gown, so she doesn’t have to use the hospital’s. There are some cute ones on Amazon.

A gift certificate to a good maternity clothing store would be great too. I know that I’ll have to go shopping in a few weeks and I’m in my second trimester. I agree with the lotion too, but like others have said, be careful with the scents. See if there’s a scent that she likes, but everyone is different.

Maybe a selection of classic baby books so that they can read to the baby?  I got my cousin an older version of the grimms’ fairy tales and aesop’s fables.  Her husband loved that they were the same ones he had when he was little, and they told me they read some of them to the baby every night.

My best friend just sent me a bunch of pregnancy books. One is called “hot mama: how to have a babe and be a babe” by Karen Salmansohn. It’s a cute, fun read. I just received it this afternoon and finished it in less than an hour. I looked it up and it’s on Barnes and Noble, Borders, and Amazon.
