i LOVED that we went to a couples and adults only all inclusive resort.  they really catered to making everything romantic and perfect for two!  we stayed at Couples Negril in Jamaica.

Like PurpleUnicorn, we loved an adults all inclusive resort.  Before we went to the resort, I didn’t think it would be a big deal to be at an adults only, but then one day we left the resort and went into town and encountered kids for the first time in days…then I realized why things seemed so peaceful at the resort. lol  We stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian and loved it.  We’re hopefully taking another trip to Sandals in either St. Lucia or Antigua in about two years.

@Lovemyfuturehub: yup and all the activities is one other reason why i chose it! my Darling Husband is the type who gets bored lying on the beach all day (I would have been fine with that!) but we did so many things like snorkeling, catamaran cruise, movie on the beach, wind surfing…. and so much more they offered we didnt have time to do because we were only there 4 days! they had schedules everyday listing all the daily and nightly activities! we totally want to go back to a couples resort for future anniversaries now. and like JsDragonfly it was so peaceful and pleasant being at an adults only.  we had our wedding a different family resort the same week so we clearly felt and saw the difference!  of couese we also upgraded from a 3.5 star to a 5 star resort and felt that difference too!  i never thought i would care much about 3 versus 5 star – i mean as long as there is a nice beach, good food and a decent place to sleep, but wow, we LOVED it!!

We rented a house outside of the Rocky Mountain National Park and it was AMAZING. We had this huge luxurious house all to oursleves. Total privacy. Gourmet kitchen to make amazing food together, a 10-person hot tub to soak in after hiking, and the most gorgeous scenery. It was the same price as staying in a hotel, but we got SO much more. Highly recommend that – for any vacation! Renting an apartment is often as cheap or sometimes even cheaper than a standard hotel, and you don’t have to deal with other people!

@dynamic_duo: i’m going to second this!

We also went to Negril and stayed at a Couples Swept Away – the resort was phenomenal – adults only and for all inclusive the food was fantastic. i really loved that the resort wasnt some high rise, instead they were little buildings spread across 17 acres, each building had 4 little bungalows. Though our resort was booked solid the week we went i never felt like it was crowded – it felt like our own little piece of paradise – Another plus, excursions are included, like glass bottom boat rides, snorkling, scuba diving, sunset tours and many more. We also got a complimentary couples massage for being on our honeymoon. They resort had great entertainment if we wanted it, bonfires on the beach – garden parties, honeymooners night..we got to light off chinese lanterns on the beach – so romantic! Jamaica is beautiful, the water is so clear and so calm – you can lay in a raft and not get pulled down shore. and the sunsets! like nothing i’ve ever seen before.

i really loved that on the beach you got the tropical feel with palm tree’s growing in the sand, clear water and soft white sand – but then when you venture into the grounds its more of a jungle feel.

here are some pics 🙂

The resort: on our way out to snorkle

one of the cute litle bungalows: not ours

and this was a view from our balcony – really?! could you imagine waking up to this everyday?
