To me, the colors are what make an event feel more masuline or feminine. Pinks, pastels, lots of pattern, and an overabundance of white tend to feel more “girly” while darker colors, solid/clean lines, and simple decor feels more… manly? Well, less girly, anyway.

Paper lanterns aren’t particularly feminine, but pompoms typically are unless they’re done in very simple colors (i.e. black and white). I would stay away from anything frilly, lacy, bows/hearts, and pale colors.

What’s your venue, and do you already have a color scheme?

@peachacid:  I don’t think that sounds too girly at all! I think using the blues and greens as primary colors with the orange as an accent will be perfect, and definitely neutral as far as masculine/feminine goes.

Were you thinking white lanters ony, or throwing in a few orange? It might be a way to keep things bright and fun without taking away from the rest. I think your colors sound pretty and fun!
