We are planning on doing a joint dance as well, but like you am having a tough time finding something.  At this time, the only song I have seriously considered is Johnny Cash and Fionna Apple’s version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”  I would be interested see if anybody else has any ideas.

We are doing Rascal Flatts “My Wish”

Also another idea is “Fathers and Daughterrs” by John Mayer

Neither very original but good

We’re doing a joint dance too and I would love some more song ideas. Here are some that I’ve collected:

You Are The Sunshine of My Life – Stevie Wonder

Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant

How Sweet It Is – James Taylor

Forever Young – Rod Stewart

In My Life – The Beatles

We are doing a joint dance as well and I definitely don’t want a sappy song or country…

The best I’ve come up with is Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, but I’m still looking 🙂

I want to do a joint parent dance as well…not sure what song we will use yet.  We have a while to think of one!  Here are a few ideas though:

“I Hope you Dance” by Lee Ann Womack

“What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong

“Forever Young” by Rod Stewart

“Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion

“I Turn to You” by Christina Aguilera

“I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain

“Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel

“You are the Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder

“You’ll be in My Heart” by Phil Collins

We’re having ” I am your child” by Barry Manilow for our mother/son father/daughter dance. but it’s kinda sappy.. So if I decide I don’t want to cry we’ll do “over the rainbow”
