just be careful when you buy landscaping burlap. the weave is so much larger spaced than burlap you buy at a fabric store. as soon as you start cutting it, it frays all over the place. hard to get semi-accurate cuts. 🙁 i bought the landscaping burlap, and wound up selling it on craigslist. i bit the bullet and paid $3/yard at walmart. i’m also making table runners and various other decorations with it.

Sorry, just now seeing your replies. I bought 60 yards of burlap..$180.  It was 46″ wide. I made 90 chair sashes- 7″ x 96″, 3 runners for 8′ banquet tables- 23″ x 120″ long, 8 runners for 5′ round tables- 23″ x 90″ long. I had roughly 13 yards left over. I’ll be making some overlays for my 4′ tables- 46″ x 46″. 🙂  I cut it allll by hand, and sewed a  seam in every single raw edge so it wouldn’t fray past 1/2 inch (took like 12 rolls of thread lol) It was quite time consuming, but it’s totally gonna be worth it.  The cheapest I saw burlap table runners online was roughly $20 each.  That’s just 8 table runners!!!! = $180.  Totally worth it to DIY.
