Marshall’s and JCP usually have some pretty nice CZ in sterling silver rings for fairly cheap. How much do you want to spend? DNL rings start at about $300 and go up.

If you want a nicer piece of jewelry, I’d recommend Asha. It has a coating on it that helps keep it from going dull or getting scratched.

Berricle.com!!  Diamond Nexus has terrible reviews (and you’ll spend way more than you need to for a stand in), although the Diamonart from JC Penny is pretty decent looking.  My engagement ring came from Berricle and I absolutely LOVE it!!  It’s a good quality CZ set in rhodium plated sterling silver, and has never turned my finger green like the cheaper ones from the spinny racks at Wal-Mart do.  Here’s a picture of it next to a naturally mined diamond eternity ring…they go great together, and my ring was filthy when I snapped this picture.

Most jewellry stores sell good quality CZ set in gold or silver. I have a really good cz set that is almost the same as my real rings that I wear for travel or when my ring is in for cleaning/plating. I went with gold so I didnt need to worry about the bands ever discolouring.

if you are looking for decent but not expensive (like, under $50), then look for sterling silver that is rhodium plated. try amazon.com

harder to find, but stainless steel rings will look nice and shiny, and you won’t even have to worry about tarnishing or plating wearing off. but for some reason, it’s super hard to find a good selection of stainless steel rings with cz.

if you are looking for something slightly better quality (like above $50) then I suggest looking for rings that are set in 10k white gold.

super cheap rings (like the under $20 rings seen at wal mart or claire’s), might sell you something that is not unlike chrome plated, and it will look awful after a few weeks of wear.

I got a couple of gorgeous “stand in” sets that look SO real at fantasyjewelrybox.com. You seriously cannot tell the difference between them and my real diamonds.

@cirk:  Sorry I haven’t followed, why do you need a fake ring for vaycay?

I got an awesome CZ on eBay for around $14. At minimum, get .925 sterling silver so it doesn’t turn your finger. Make sure it is solid, not plated. If your skin is anything like mine, after 2 days any plating is worn off and I start turning colors. I wouldn’t get white gold unless you plan on using the ring long term, as the price skyrockets when you change metals.

You can easily have a beautiful engagement ring that no one would know was a CZ if it is a 5A rated cubic zirconia (best CZ and most indistinguishable to diamonds) Highly suggest you do have a gold band as sterling silver can eventually fade if you wear it ever day! Here are some 5A CZ and Blue Sapphire 5A!

*Only purchase from a store that offers a money back guarantee and has great ratings!
