I just started using Google+ and it’s taking some getting used to. I don’t think it’s as intuitive as Facebook seems to be, but maybe that’s just becauase I’ve been using Facebook for years now.
Anyone else using Google+ yet? What do you think? Any tips?

I just got an invite this morning actually from someone and to be honest I have no clue what it is. I’m usually pretty resistant to technology trends…. fill me in? I really don’t understand what it is/does.

@CorgiTales: From what I understand it is Google’s social networking site. Basically Google is going to try to have their own email, twitter and facebook all in one…which I guess is what Google+ is. Apparently facebook is moving towards creating facebook email and a facebook twitter-like site as well and Google is just doing it the other way around. I think they want it to take over facebook and honestly, with how rapidly it’s growing right now I wouldn’t be surprised if it does. Google+ has only been out for 2 weeks and as of this past Sunday there were 7.3 million people on it, today there are 10 million and they expect to have 20 million by the end of the week.

im on it, and im still trying to figure it out, and im waiting for more of my friends to get on it
im really excited to try out the “hang out” feature – where its like a group video chat
@CorgiTales: its like a more broken down and secure facebook – you put people into “circles” and then you can limit what you post to individual circles or contact each circle as a group – you don’t ask people to be your friends, you just put them in circles, but they can limit what you can see too
its like a hybrid of twitter, fb and linkedin, from what i can tell so far

It seems pretty similar to Facebook so far, but interesting to explore. The feature that I’ve heard about most is categorizing people into different groups, with different limitations on access to one’s info.

@Lovebird724: you explained it much better than I did!
yes, the circle thing is kind of awesome. My husband actually had this idea a long time ago for facebook. Actually about 6 months ago I messaged Mark Zuckerberg telling him my husband’s idea. That you should be able to “friend” “family” “coworker” or “acquaintance” someone and that depending on what type of category they were in they would be able to see different things on your profile. He never wrote back and about 6 months later (now) Google+ came out with that exact thing!

I have only recently heard about this, but haven’t been invited that I know of. I don’t know of anyone who uses it

I’m there but prefer FB. Moistly cause so many of my friends don’t plan on moving & it’s not that user-friendly just yet…..

I got invited but I haven’t accepted yet–I got freaked out by that thing Google did awhile back where it defaulted you into sharing all your Reader stuff, Gchat statuses, etc. as public. I am hopelessly backward when it comes to most technology so I just opted out of the whole thing–is Google+ like that? I mean is it secure? Or is everything you do public by default?
[Although I suppose if it’s anything like FB, probably not so much…]

I’m on it as well. I haven’t spent enough time on it yet to fully utilize it. It seems kind of boring so far with only five friends.

I joined but I can’t figure out the privacy settings or how to work the damn thing in general. I’m not enthusiastic about it. Nevermind the fact that I don’t know how to get back onto the site since I linked in through an email….

I signed up for it at the end of last week, but haven’t done much of anything with it. It isn’t exactly intuitive, and I can’t figure out if others can see which circle you put them in? I would assume they can’t, but I’m not sure.
I also only have like one friend on it, so maybe once I get more it will make more sense?
