With my ex we celebrated one year.  I plan to do the same with my new husband.  With my ex, we lived in Tucson, AZ so we went up one of the mountains that overlooked the city and had a picnic dinner on the side of the mountian with candles and wine and watched the sun set and city light up.  Then we went home and ate our cake top.  YUM!

I like the idea of doing soooomething!  I love the idea of staying in the same room you stayed in on your wedding night …. but if that’s too much perhaps even just going out to dinner and trying to find something similar to what you ate the night of the wedding, then when you get home or in the car make sure you listen to your first dance song (or dance to it if you’d like!) take a look through the photo albums and the video. All these things are pretty cheap, but just make sure you guys "check back in" on how happy you were on that day.  (Not saying you werent happy, but there might be anniversaries in the future where you aren’t, it might be a fun tradition to start!)  Have fun!

I want to re-vacay the honeymoon..that’s a great idea.  My sis and bro in law every year do a re-honeymoon!  They’ve been married 15 years!

Why don’t you order a mini cake from your baker? I plan on ordering a mini version of ours every year. At least until we decide that the LAST thing we need is cake, lol! I lvoe the idea of getting away if you can. And if you can afford it! I know where I live there are a few wineries…a bottle or two of wine: $20, stay in the hotel: $100…not too shabby if we bring a "picnic", right? What’s within driving distance?

the first anniversary gift is paper.  i had a photographer take pictures of the wine bar where we met and got engaged.   you could always get him tickets to something!

You totally should. After all, I hear it doesn’t taste so good when it’s been frozen a whole year! I’d rather have a fresh one.

This bakery near me does the yummiest 4 layer chocolate cake with white, chocolate, prailine pecan, and espresso creams between them all. It’s heaven
