I had finished university for the Christmas holidays, and he came to meet me after. We then went shopping and had something to eat. He kept getting me lots of little things and checking to make sure I was happy. And also insisted we go to the city harbour (we happened across it one day and always promised we’d have a nice flat there). I gave him a hug at one point, and brushed my fingers against his coat pocket and felt a box shape. I grew really excited and nervous, and for the remainder of the shopping trip, was on my toes waiting.
He mentioned earlier that we could go for a meal on the coming Monday. And then when we were walking along the harbour front, he said “I didn’t say I would propose at the meal, that’s just the celebration. Did you really think I would make you wait like that?” Then he pulled the box out and showed me the ring, and asked me to marry him. Without thinking I said yes, I will over and over. Then he slipped it on my finger. Throughout that night I went through any number of emotions, disbelief, ecstasy, nausea, contentment, and happiness.
Each proposal is unique, and I have to say, mine was one of the best moments in my life.

@MapleMoose: It was actually a kind of pleasant nausea, and I just couldn’t believe what was happening.
I’ll post some pictures up soon 🙂

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? I only ask because I notice you’re wearing your ring on your right hand. In the US we usually wear it on the left. When my Darling Husband proposed, I really didn’t think about it and put the ring on my right hand. I didn’t realize I had it wrong until my SIL pointed it out.

@CanAmBride: Hi! I’m from the UK, and it’s on my left hand, it’s just the way I angled the camera, makes it look like it’s on my right hand. I never noticed until you pointed out lol!
