I have been stalking these boards all summer to decide what I want for an anniversary upgrade. I decided on moissy, but loved so many styles and cuts and changed my mind almost every day. I finally went to a jewelry store and tried them all on– and my heart did flip flops with an oval halo. It suprised me because I did NOT want a halo and thought for sure I would want a pear. Ha! You just have to try them on in person. Anyways, I took the plunge and just ordered it!!! Hopefully this will help someone as much as you all have helped me 🙂
I got: wed618a forever brilliant 8×6 from MoissaniteCo.com. http://www.moissaniteco.com/embrace-oval-moissanite-halo-wedding-set-p-16245:aabcf138e4e0f5d5b701490dc1c13280.html First of all, the picture online looks WAYYYY more bulky than it is in person. I had read that in reviews before but was very relieved to see it in person 🙂
First of all, I really do regret getting the 8×6 (1.5ct) instead of 7×5 (1ct). Since it’s an upgrade, I just went for the bigger size. But I am not a flashy person at all and am a little self conscious about the big size, especially with the halo. I am hoping I’ll get used to it, I took the tags off already so it’s too late to exchange with Moissanite Co. Secondly, I do love the halo with the plain shank combination. I feel like the center really pops instead of being a mass of sparklies if that makes sense. Also I wanted something a bit different – all of my friends have halos but no plain shank! Plus, with being the bigger size, it would have been too much for me to have stones on the band as well. Maybe someday I’ll get a moissy eternity band to match but for now, I’m leaving it!
The stone is very sparkly and absolutely gorgeous, even though it’s not “white”. It is definetly warmer in the car or on cloudy days, and also absorbs color a lot- I was wearing a green shirt yesterday and it was reflecting green from that. So far, this hasn’t bothered me. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it (also a lot of “huge” has been used) and no one so far has asked if it’s a “real diamond.” If anyone asks, I wouldn’t lie, but I don’t feel the need to preach/justify to every person I meet about it.
Side note, the sizing is exactly right if you go to a store and get yours sized. My previous wedding ring was a 5, I ordered a 5, and it fits the same. The only thing is the band is now thinner (1.8mm) so it twists more on my finger, so if you get a thinner band I would recommend going down 1/4 size. It’s not a huge deal though.
All in all, I LOVE my ring and would recommend Moissanite Co to anyone!
Sorry in advance for the big pics!! If anyone cares to see a version with stones on the band, 7×5 on size 4 finger, I found this post: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/moissaniteco-com-review-and-ring-pics/#axzz3ANfN15h6
