Wow, I love it – it sparkles like crazy!

It is stunning as is, I wouldn’t pair it with anything!

It’s beautiful! I vote plain gold band. It’s a classic, doesn’t take away from your engagement ring, and you can wear it alone if you want to sometimes. It’ll look great!

Congrtulations!!! It looks great on your hand and what a fantastic price! I personally would not wear a band with it but you have plenty of room on your finger if you want one.

herrera2016:  it is beautiful!  Congrats and you can’t beat the price!  My hubby just bought me a previously loved marquise ring too…unfortunately I have to wait till my anniversary to have it 🙁 enjoy your new ring and honestly I don’t think it needs a band, but if you really want one maybe just a thin, plain, gold one?

herrera2016:  Well it definitely looks wonderful (and eye clean for you too!). Get it appraised and find out the flaws so that you will be familiar with your stone (personally, I think a couple flaws are wonderful, as long as they are not huge black carbon spots or affecting performance…they speak to its origins, and help you identify it) but otherwise just love it and wear it! You saved a lot on the ering, so you could maybe look into getting a chevron band custom made at the right angles? But like I said, I would wear that beauty all on its own. But I don’t feel the same way some other ladies on this thread that a band is needed for a married “feel”” or look or whatever.

Great ring, looks perfect on you and a hell of a deal!  I say no band, it stands alone, doesn’t need it.

I think it’s beautiful!  I love baguettes and under-represented shapes!  I also think the style is more timeless than the current halo trend.  For the band, I would go custom.  You could get a yellow gold band fitted so it sits flush – like an upside-down chevron.  And you could have either a curved outside edge or a straight one, add a few stones if you want more sparkle (not that you need it with that ring!).

I’d probably go more for an art deco vibe with a marquise rather than a modern halo, you can get an art deco style setting that would add some coverage too, but it is whatever calls to you. I just think marquises suit this kind of style so well and yours is a substantial size so would be pretty stunning in something like this!:
