Oh! What a shame!  And they are so pretty too!

Did you try putting them on at the same time rather than one at a time?  Not that it really matters, because they are too tight and and you’ll have to have them resized.

yep, the wider the band, the more you need to size up. so, putting on two bands is like having one wider band.

I’m guessing you like your rings snug because it causes it to spin less?

my suggestion: after (or right before) the wedding, get them both sized up and then soldered together. that way, they will spin less and will always be lined up.

I’m surprised your jeweler didn’t tell you this. It’s pretty standard that you will have to go up a half of size when wearing both.

You are my hand twin!Kiss

When I wear both rings and my hands swell, the only way I can get rings on or off is to soap my finger.

Right now I’m dieting because the ring FIT when I got it….I’m determined to have it fit again!

@Earlybride: yes, don’t put them both on if you have to force it.

my hands are kind of similar to yours. when I was 16, I asked to try on my deceased grandma’s ring, but it was too small and I had to force it past the chubby part. after 3 days of agony, icing it, putting greasy things on it, etc, I could not get it off. my dad had to cut it off.

oh, I felt so terrible about that one 🙁

sorry, one more post!  if you have them soldered together, you might be able to get away with a larger size than you think.

for example: I wear a 6.5 when the band is thin. but I have a big heavy turquoise ring with a wide band– like, 11mm wide. it is a size 8. anything smaller and i would have never been able to get it on. you’d think it would fall right off of my size 6.5 finger, but it never even comes close to accidentally falling off. that large surface area seems to keep it stuck to my hand, I think. (if that makes any sense at all!)

even on a cold day when my hands shrink!

one final thought: you could size it up to fit you more loosely, and then have sizing beads put in. that will help keep the ring from sliding, but make it not have a muffin top (sorry, I know that sounds bad. I have muffin top fingers too so I feel like it’s ok to joke about it). the sizing beads kind of “dig in” on the inside. some people don’t like them, some people say they can’t feel it at all.

I had to have my e-ring sized down after I lost 20lbs, and my jeweller intentionally kept it a quarter-size too large for when I got my wedding band. Each ring on its own feels too loose, but when both are on my finger they’re just right.

So yes, this is a common problem.

As the PP mentioned it is typical with several bands on your finger. I have my Engagement Ring and will be wearing two weddings bands (one on either side) and so the jeweler went up a quarter size to accomodate the bands.

I had this problem, kinda, sort of.  My (original) engagement ring and wrap fit perfectly by themselves.  Not tight at all, not loose, I loved them.  When I picked up my (thick gold, can’t remember the mm) ring the jeweler suggested I wear all three together around the house to get a feel for them.  Well, they all fit but whenever I bent my fingers (and how many times a day do you do that??  About a million) my engagement ring would slip under my wedding band and pinch me.  It hurt every time and I had a welt under my finger by the time I got home!!  So I brought it back to the jeweler, a week before the wedding, and asked what to do.  I had to have the band sized smaller (even though it was technically my ring size) to avoid this problem and guess what happened?  It fit perfectly fine when it was alone but it was thick and my fingers are short so when I put all my rings on I had trouble bending my hand and it wasn’t very comfortable.  And, because my band had engraving on the edges, you could see where they ‘cut’ it to size it down :0(  After about a year of struggling, and more issues with the engraving (I could always feel where they engraved the band and it left red spots on my finger…like sandpaper would) I ended up with a whole new wedding band.  I wore my original band alone on occasion, or when I didn’t want to lose my rings (since it was still too small it wouldn’t fall off and since there was no diamonds no one would steal it) and wore my new, thinner, diamond band with my e-rings.  As beautiful as my new set was, I always felt sad at leaving my ‘real’ wedding band in the jewelry box.  Now it’s been almost 3 years since my husband passed and it’s that ring that I take out and slip on my finger from time to time, not the diamond band.

i think my wedding band is a little wider than my E ring,  and so was ordered 1 full size bigger and it fits really well.  even if it had been a little bit loose it wouldnt matter because the E ring is a perfect fit and would stop my wedding ring falling off as its worn on top.
