Fiance and I went to pick up my wedding band last night! I am so happy with it. I debated a lot on what to go with and finally settled on a channel set band. Then narrowed that down to a half eternity, 3mm. For whatever reason I could not find a ring I liked at my price point at any local jewelers. So I took my search online and found some good options, I even debated trying a moissy wedding band but later settled on diamond to match my e-ring. When all my online researching was said and done I ended up going with Brian Gavin. Since they also did not offer the exact ring I wanted I ended up going the custom route with them. Even though I don’t think most people would think my ring looks custom at all since it’s a very common look that is what it took to get it to be exactly what I wanted. I came in under the cost of many rings I looked at online and very close to some other ones I was considering which to me, made going custom to get exactly what I want, worth it.
The ordering process went very well and in total it took me about a month to get my ring. I placed the order and paid on Nov 13 2013. I never did receive a CAD which was listed on their site as the next step but I think since like I mentioned my ring design is very common they might not have needed to do that step. After about three weeks though I contacted them to check in and was told my ring was almost ready. Less than a week later I got shipping confirmation and last night Fiance and I headed over to FedEx to pick it up!
(There was a bag inside the box inside a bigger box! – Fiance was so amused as I tore into each box only to find more and more packaging!!)
Finally without further (packaging) delay I got to my Custom 18kt White Gold 3mm 1/2 Eternity Channel Set Wedding band 12 x .03ct Brian Gavin Signature H&A Melee F/G VS ring size 5 – Sorry only have cell phone pics right now!
But..Brian Gavin also sent over a set of “Glamour Shots” of the ring before it left them…
The ring ended up being a lot more “solid” than I thought it would be if that makes sense. The band is a little thicker in the back but I like it since my e-ring is thinner it makes my set feel very comfortable and solid. And of course, love the sparkle! Which I can never seem to capture well in a photo. It also sits pretty flush with my e-ring which was a must for me! I don’t mind the little gaps around my center stone but aside from that I really wanted them to fit together. Now I just have to wait 5 months to get to wear it every day!!
