So, I’ll quickly update you guys on where I’ve been the last few days. I found a dog on Friday afternoon on the way to my mom’s house that had either gotten out or run away, etc. She had on a collar and had a rabies tag, but no ID tag. Called the vet’s office on the rabies tag and they were closed from 12/22 until today, 12/27. She had almost gotten hit by a car, I couldn’t just leave her there. 🙁 Plus she was so sweet and well-behaved.
Brought her home and she’s been here since because the vet’s office was closed. They re-opened today at 2 pm. I called at 2:10 pm, we figured out her name was Honey and the office called her owners. I just got home from reuniting them. 🙂 They were so happy/thankful. She got along really well with Lucy & Chevy, which made the whole thing a bit easier. They offered me money for keeping her safe, but I wouldn’t take it.
I was just glad that it all worked out! I would have wanted someone to do the same thing for me and my pups. My babies would be so lost out in the “real world” just like this sweetheart seemed to be. <3 It made me realize what the holidays are all about when I realized I would rather be making sure that the babies and what we’ll call the “foster baby” were all taken care of, instead of worrying with our presents, etc.
Just wanted to share. 🙂 It does work out for the better sometimes. It made me realize how many people must do this when I posted an ad on Craigslist (just in case).
