Today marks the first of the “yes” RSVPs being cancelled.. by email.. and not directly to me.
I honestly expected a “no” from the start, so getting a “yes” and now a “no” really bugs me. Maybe it’s because I’ve had a really crappy week and things just keep getting worse.
At least this one was before final count was due.

@snoie: Hi date twin and…cancellation day twin? 🙂 I got my first “false yes” today as well! It’ll be okay…

Glad I’m not alone! I’m more bummed because now it means only 4 people from my fathers side, rather than 7. The majority are too old to travel, on vacation, or just live too far away from that side.
I guess I should be happy it was before I gave my final count… which I really should do today..

Sorry to hear, ladies. We got our first cancellation a few weeks ago but kept getting additions to the guest list (including plus-ones of plus-ones, not even kidding). Finally I put my foot down and told our parents that we were giving the final count and paying the final payment this Monday.
So of course, yesterday I get a call. “Is it too late to add someone…?” YES. YES IT IS.
We’re also getting last-minute cancellations of hotel room reservations (staying only one night instead of two, etc.), and there are still a few guests who I wouldn’t be surprised if they turned out to be no-shows. It sucks, but I’m sure that will be the furthest thing from my mind on that day.
Stay sane, all!
