@MrsSl82be: same here. it rained the morning of my wedding but thank goodness i was able to have my outdoor wedding….cloudy day or not haha. I had to stop going to Snippet & Ink, Style me Pretty because my wedding pics didnt look like any of those! LOL.

I think your being really hard on yourself. There isnt a professional photojournalistic aspect to your pics but i think they are still beautiful! Especially the outdoor wedding pics! Maybe you can find someone awesome at photoshop to make them AMAZING!

@mudrat2: I’m sorry you’re disappointed. Yes, they could use improvement. It looks as thought lighting is not your photographer’s friend, particularly indoors. There are distracting flash blobs of light on the wall behind you, as though the light meter was way off. The outdoor photos are better because it looks like it was an overcast day, giving some softness to the daylight.

I’m curious to see this photographer’s other work and to know what made you choose him/her in the first place.

Photoshop can do wonders. Perhaps you can take digital images of your photos to another photographer or company and have them enhance your photos.

Good luck, and hang in there!

I don’t think you will HAVE to do anything. Wth the increased traffic to their site, I am sure they will find this post. I do think at this point you should contact them and see if there is any editing they could do to correct the exposure, etc. before they come across this post without having talked to you.

I think you should also send something to your guests asking them to upload their pictures form the weeding so maybe you could put together an album of the best shots of the day including some of your photographer’s (if you get the rights to them.)

Okay, what’s done is done. I know that looking at pictures on the bee, one gets this sense that all pictures look like SMP worthy shots but IRL, not all wedding pictures are like that. Your pictures are beautiful. I think for the level of photography the person practices (I looked at the other pictures on the website), these actually were pretty good. It’s not like you paid 4k and the pictures turned out shitty (I’ve seen that happen too). I think there were a lot of pictures that I liked. I didn’t go through each and every one of them though. Also, I’ve noticed that proof/gallery pics always have this wonky look to them. When they send the pro DVD with the hi-res images, hopefully everything will look much better. I’m sorry you don’t like a lot of your pictures but I think many of them are lovely.

I didn’t look at all of them but I started the slide show of the 65 highlights and got through the ceremony photos which were one of OP’s major complaints. I don’t think they are terrible. Generally the expressions are captured and the moments are there. I completely agree that the lighting is not good. However, he got the shots as well as the detail shots (oddly the cake and flowers seem to be is great lighting). So, I would suggest you find a friend who likes to use Photo shop and ask for some help. Maybe you could find a version of photoshop and play with soem of them yourself. A little more brightness and a bit of croping could go a long way on these photos. My guess is you expected finished photos when most photographers do not edit photos when they are giving you a deal and rights to all the photos on CD. My photog did minor edits on about 30 of 650ish. Editing takes a lot of time and is thus expensive, if you can’t do it yourself, there are etsy shops who offer photo editing for like $5 per photo so maybe you can pick a handful that you want to print and hire someone to edit them but besure to check the samples first and confirm it’s a style you like, not just the first person you find if you do choose to hire someone.

Unfortunately I agree with PP as well that they look like guest pictures. Have you tried contacting him to let him know that you want the pictures brighter?

I agree with the other post. You look very happy, in love and beautiful but these don’t look like pro photos. I hope that it is just the website that makes the pics look like that. I think that if you are that dissatisfied that maybe you should say something to him.

I’m so sorry to hear something like that but you do look beautiful just the same.

Some of them are good and some not so good. I can see why you are upset. But are these his style, is this what he always produces? I think some could be made better with some editing to fix the lighting and stuff. Sorry you don’t like them, good luck.

They’re not bad but they’re kind of “plain” imo (not artsy like what you see on Style Me Pretty). When I look at the photographer’s other work it all seems similar (same lighting issues and such), so I think if you did not like his style, you shouldn’t have hired him… there are a lot of shots though that are very nice and will look great as framed keepsakes of the day. 🙂

I don’t think they look horrible… are these the final photos or is he going to edit/touch up some photos, possible create some black and white to make more contrast?
