I’m new to the boards, but I just bought my dress last night and could use some feedback.
I was all excited about the dress — it’s perfect for my chapel/barn venue and the rustic/vintage theme I’m going for. I think it’s totally unique and it makes me smile. Then Mom had to go and make a “helpful” comment about my belly. Thanks, Ma!
I’m having a corset back put in just because I love them, but I’m also hoping it’ll do some duty as tummy-sucker-inner.

Oooh gorgeous dress!!! Corsets are always very flattering too. I am thinking of having my zip-up back made into a corset back. Congrats!

Your gown is adorable! Sorry your Mom hurt your feelings. I definitely think that the corsett will pull you in a bit. However, I noticed your wedding date, you’ve got some time to trim your tummy a bit. I’m a plus-sized bride and followed Weight Watchers “rules” pretty closely before my wedding. But, the greatest thing ever was Jilian Michael’s 30 day shred! It’s a short workout that gets you sweating! I’m sure you’ll see results…IF that is what you desire! Much luck to you and enjoy the planning!

Congratulations on finding your dress!
I went to the dressmaker last week for a dress alteration and I had a tummy buldge so I wanted to know if there was anything she could do, or should I take the dress back [it wasn’t final sale but I had 24 hours to return it if I wanted to]. and she whipped out this long line bra for me to try that flattened my tummy! I couldn’t believe it. She also recommended spanks. Not Victoria Secret brand of Spanks, but the real mccoy spanks. She was right.
I went in thinking corset!
So try the dress on with the proper underwear.
Ask the corset question of a tailor/dress maker/alterations lady. I don’t think the corset will pull in the tummy.
You have a lovely bust line and waist! I would forgo the corset and try the underwear. The dress is lovely from the back and it fits you so nicely! I wouldn’t mess with perfection!!

pretty! i definitely think the corset will help. get some spanx that go up to your boobs too and it will look great!

Dress looks gorgeous on you! A corset back definitely does suck some things in an flatten. That would be helpful if you feel like you need it, but I think you look beautiful without it!

I love that dress! I know a corset back would help if you don’t want to wear a bra, you can tighten it enough to hold the girls in. I don’t know ifi t helps with the tummy (although I didn’t even notice it you look so good). If you’re sensitive about it I’d go with spanx. They make all the difference in the world!
