Does anyone have recommendations on a place to clean and preserve the wedding gown? I went to Meurice and was told cleaning and preserving starts at $644. Then I went across the street and the woman said it would start at $250. I know it depends on the dress but would appreciate any recommendations on where to go. I can go anywhere in the 5 boroughs

I bought my dress from Saks Fifth Avenue and they said they only recommend ONE cleaner in the entire country, J. Scheer & Co. in NYC. They are definitely not cheap, but I’ve heard really great things about them. And what’s nice is that even though the dress is “preserved,” you can take it out, show it off, touch it, etc. without violating the preservation warranty. Most places prevent you from even opening the box after its been preserved. This was important to me b/c I’d like to sell my dress and want to be able to take pictures, measure it, etc. for potential buyers.

Thanks. Yes, I know J. Scheer is pricey which is why I want to use someone else. It doesn’t make much sense to do all that if the cost is half that of the dress!
