I don’t live in CA, so I don’t know of any specific places, but there are indeed places that are that up-scale. A coworker of mine went to a number of places like that when looking for dresses.

I probably have mentioned this several times before, but I went to *cough* 21 wedding salons in the LA/OC/San Diego area, including some of the posh ones with high end designers. Not a single glass of champagne offered to me. In fact the fancier the salon, the crappier I was treated. I guess I didn’t look rich enough to be taken as a serious client? Probably didn’t help I still look like a kid at age 35.

I think Saks does if you call and make an appointment.

I’m definitely not where you are- but the store where I bought my dress (in Wisconsin) gives the entire entourage a champagne toast when you buy your dress… they were all out when I bought mine, so I’ll have it at the first fitting- yay!  I also know of a couple stores in Mississippi (where I’m going to school) that do private appointments with champagne- you have to pay for an after-hours appointment, but they hold the store open just for you and have champagne.  I think you get the $ you paid for the appointment as a credit toward a dress purchase.

No offense to the midwest and south, but surely if they do it around here, you should be able to find something like it in CA!  I’d suggest calling smaller shops about private appointments or something like that?  The places I’ve seen it available weren’t super up-scale, just cute, independent/local shops.  Have fun!!

I did!  I did!  My girls and I were all treated to a champagne toast when I bought my dress.  It was fantastic. πŸ™‚

@Baconprincess: Are you talking about Brandi’s in New Glarus?  I came here to post about them.  I looked there, and they told me about the champagne toast they do, but I ended up finding my dress in Monroe instead.  No toast for me =(

I honsetly don’t get the point of drinking while buying a wedding dress! I saw a few brides to be drinking when I was buying my dress and they were loud and obnoxious! Now im not saying everyone who chooses to do this is and will be loud and obnoxious but if you do keep it classy.

i don’t know about california, but both that i have been to in minnesota do that on sundays. the store is not open for regular appointments or walk-ins on that day and brides pay a deposit of about $25 for the special sunday appointments that include champaigne and snacks and alot of special treatment.

@mrsawesome09:  Yep, it’s Brandi’s!  I’m from northern IL so it’s actually pretty close.  Since we didn’t get champagne the day we bought my dress, my mom and I went to the brewery instead afterwards. πŸ™‚  Beer + wedding dress = good day.  (That sounds really bad, but it was fun!).  Sad you missed out on champagne!
