Hello everyone! I am getting married in December, and I’m looking for a dress with sleeves. I haven’t been able to find any in my area, so I’m thinking about ordering online. Does anyone have any tips on where to find gowns that aren’t strapless?

What is your budget? Do you want sleeves that are part of the dress or would a bolero or removable overlay be okay?

I hardly ever see sleeved dresses, so I’m looking forward to what the bees bring back to the hive for you.

Are you wanting longer sleeves or just anything that’s not strapless? There are a lot of keyhole back dresses which have cap sleeves, but since you are getting married in December and may be worried about the cold you may not want a keyhole back. For a starting point just to get an idea of what you like Here’s a link to a long sleeve David’s bridal dress that was their Kate Middleton knockoff

If you are interested in shorter sleeves, keyhole backs, or illusion necklines Ill have a few more suggestions. Like PP said, boleros are also a good option as some are very beautiful.

There seem to be more and more dresses coming out with sleaves thanks to Kate Middleton. Allure has some, i’ve seen an off the hsoulder sleave from maggie sottero, justin alexander’s new collection has lotts of illusion necklines, san patrick, la sposa and pronovias also have a few dresses with sleaves.
Etsy also has many bolero’s and those lace tops that you can add to an existing dress.

Wow, DB did a good job with that Kate Middleton gown!
Lots of brides wear short sleeved gowns here in Utah for modesty. Is this too short?

I will be wearing a spaghetti strap gown with a removable, long-sleeved lace coat over it:

Maybe something like this would be an option?

A lot of dressmakers can add some sleeve length to a dress that doesn’t have them. I know that my seamstress said it could be done on mine (I wanted a 3/4 length lace sleeve on the Casablanca #2004). If you love a strapless dress, I think it’s usually a lace cap sleeve but I don’t see why they can’t do a cap sleeve of an otherwise solid fabric.
Unless a cap sleeve won’t do. But it’s something to consider.

Wow! You guys really came through with a lot of ideas. I’m reluctant to just get sleeves added to a strapless dress- I find strapless dresses don’t fit me well, and I want the sleeves to look like they belong. I’ve actually started just looking at formal evening gowns.

@liluinhalifax: Try Ronald Joyce. http://www.ronaldjoyce.com/
As another Bee said since Kate Middleton went for the sleeved look there is at least one in every collection. Good luck x

Ther are many lace long sleeve jackets, also winter coats. I love the white faux furr pictures but you can have any style underneath it for reception .

@KCKnd2: I know your post was like a month ago but can you tell me more about this dress? I’m kind of in love with it.

@KCKnd2: Do you know if there’s an option to buy just the lace coat? 🙂
As for a gown with sleeves, I’m not sure if these count as sleeves but I’ve tried this on and it is very pretty:
